Peter Doherty is an English singer-songwriter and musician from London. He rose to fame with his band the Libertines in the 2000s, and subsequently embarked on a solo career in 2005. Drawing heavily from Britpop, as well as punk, blues and folk music, his lyrics often deal with themes such as love, death, loss and redemption. His debut solo album "Grace/Wastelands" was supported by three top twenty singles and further albums such as "Hamburg Demonstrations" and "Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres". He was also nominated for the 2017 Mercury Prize for "Hamburg Demonstrations" and has performed at numerous festivals such as Glastonbury, Fuji Rock Festival and Paleo Festival. In addition to music, Doherty has been involved in numerous activities such as writing, painting, poetry and acting.
