Sedative is an experimental darkwave and industrial music artist created by New Zealand-born, Berlin-based musician and producer Naomi Parkinson. Drawing on influences from EBM, collage-style layering, spoken word and dense rhythmic structures, her music is characterised by layered drums, horror-laden synths and unapologetic vocal work.

Parkinson's lyrics explore the darker parts of the human experience, delving into themes of meaninglessness, delusion and the harsh realities of existence. Her live performances prominently feature a masquerade of alter-egos and theatrical aspects, pushing and playing with the boundaries between reality and fiction.

Sedative has had her music released through a range of labels including Clan Analogue, Crystal Complex, and she also is co-founder of experimental music label Hissing Fauna. She has performed internationally, sharing stages with The Soft Moon, Perturbator, W.H. Lung, and TR/ST.
