About Squirrel Nut Zippers
Squirrel Nut Zippers is an iconic alternative jazz swing band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, that formed in 1993. The group consists of eight members, including musician Jimbo Mathus who founded the band. They released their first album Hot in 1995 and achieved mainstream success with 1996's single "Hell" and their album, The Inevitable. The band quickly gained popularity, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1997, and even appeared on the TV show "Late Show with David Letterman." They continued to produce successful albums in the late 1990s and 2000s, such as Perennial Favorites and Bedlam Ballroom. In the 2010s, they reunited to tour for the 20th anniversary of their first studio album. The band members have also been active in solo projects and forming other musical projects.
