About Strange Bones
A fiery punk combo out of Blackpool, England, Strange Bones spent the latter half of the 2010s building up a devoted grassroots fan base through hard touring and a steady spate of independent EPs and singles. Known for their raw, aggressive sound and blistering live shows, the band entered their second decade on a high note, turning heads with their Blitz, Pt. 2 EP in 2020 and subsequently signing with American label FRKST to release a series of collaborations.
Formed in coastal Blackpool by brothers Bobby (vocals), Will (bass), and Jack Bentham (guitar), the group was reared on classic punk influences while dabbling here and there in a trap, hip-hop, and electronica. Along with original drummer Stuart Newburn, Strange Bones began releasing music in 2015, establishing their visceral tone with early singles like "S.O.I.A." and 2016's riffy "Slug City." Several years of indie releases and touring codified them into a tight unit and by 2018's "Here Come the Wolves" 7", Strange Bones had put down sturdy roots in the U.K. music scene. Their self-released EPs, Blitz, Pt. 1 (2019) and Pt. 2 (2020), earned significant industry attention and helped the band net a deal with FRKST Records, a Warner-affiliated imprint run by Highly Suspect frontman Johnny Stevens. With Nathan Sanderson replacing Newburn on drums, Strange Bones embarked on a run of collaborative singles including "Menace" with Bob Vylan and 2021's "Venom" with Death Tour.
