The Main Event is an American hip-hop duo that was formed in 2001, consisting of brothers Sadat X and Godfather Don. They are best known for their song “Bounce to This” and their collaboration with A Tribe Called Quest. The duo burst onto the hip-hop scene in 2004 with the release of their debut album, Take It or Squeeze It, which included the lead single “Bounce to This”. The Main Event continued to tour and collaborate with a range of artists over the next few years, with releases such as Time to Shine (2005) and The Cook Up (2008) receiving critical acclaim. In 2012, they released their last album, G.U.T.T.T. (Grimy Underground Takeover The World) and have continued to make live appearances since. Despite their relative obscurity, The Main Event has stayed connected to their fan base and provided an enduring presence in the hip-hop scene.
