William Elliott Whitmore is an American musician and singer-songwriter from Iowa known for his blues and folk style of music. He's released over ten albums since his 2002 debut, Song Of The Blackbird. His distinctive style embraces the 'old-time' banjo and other folk instruments drawing on a variety of musical influences including country, blues and gospel. Whitmore's thoughtful lyrics often focus on dark topics such as violence, death and religion. An adept storyteller, Whitmore has collaborated with producers in all of his albums which have met widespread acclaim from music critics.
