Refused is a Swedish punk rock band from Umeå, Sweden, formed in 1991. Throughout their career, the band has gone through many line-up changes, several break-ups, and three different vocalists. Refused has released four studio albums: This Just Might Be... The Truth (1994), Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent (1996), The Shape of Punk to Come (1998) and Freedom (2015).

Refused's seminal album, The Shape of Punk to Come, has been credited as one of the most influential punk albums of all time, and has been described as an "explosive, genre-defying mix of post-hardcore, electronic dance music, and experimental noise rock." Their music has influenced a variety of punk and alternative artists, including At the Drive-In, Bring Me the Horizon, Rise Against and a host of others.
