About Al Stewart
Al Stewart is a British singer-songwriter who enjoyed doing folk-rock and pop music in the 1970s and 80s, and is known for his intricate and poetic lyrics. Born into a Scottish family, Stewart released his first album, Bedsitter Images, in 1967. This was followed by the hit albums Zero She Flies (1970), Orange (1972), and Past, Present and Future (1974). His single "Year of the Cat" became a global hit in 1976, and was followed by other popular singles such as "On the Border" and "Time Passages". He also went on to produce several critically acclaimed albums, such as 24 Carrots (1980) and Russians and Americans (1984). Stewart is still writing and releasing music today, and his latest album, Uncorked, was released in 2020.
