Anika Moa is an award winning singer-songwriter from New Zealand. Since her debut in 2001, she has released seven solo albums and has released several singles that achieved gold or higher levels of certification. Her first single “Thinking Room” reached number one on the New Zealand charts and was certified double platinum. Alongside her music career, she has also starred as a judge on the New Zealand edition of The X Factor, and been a coach of The Voice. She also works as a radio presenter for radio station Mai FM. Anika’s music mixes folk with pop-rock and often includes political and social commentary on issues such as multiracialism and LGBT rights. In 2017 she received the highest New Zealand arts honour when she was made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her contribution to music.
