About Ash (Ireland)
Ash are an indie rock band from Northern Ireland. Formed in Downpatrick in 1992, they are composed of founding members Tim Wheeler (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards, programming) and Mark Hamilton (bass, backing vocals) along with Rick McMurray (drums, backing vocals).
They are one of the few bands from Northern Ireland who achieved mainstream success not only in Ireland, but in other countries. Their breakthrough album '1977' sold over 500,000 copies and helped them gain recognition outside of their homeland.
Since then, they have released six studio albums, 'Nu-Clear Sounds', 'Free All Angels', 'Meltdown', 'Twilight of the Innocents', 'A-Z Series' and most recently 'Kablammo!'. They have achieved critical acclaim and their music has been featured in various films and television shows worldwide.
Throughout their career they have toured extensively across arenas and festivals, cementing their place in
