About BABBA
BABBA is a Swedish pop group that initially specialized in musical parodies, drawing from both Swedish and international songs and performing them in an ABBA-style format. BABBA was originally formed in 1982, and released their first album in 1983 titled BABBA 1. Their third album, titled BABBA 3, featuring the breakout hit “Money, Money, Money”, propelled the group to mainstream success in Sweden. BABBA earned a large cult following in the late 1980s, and went on to release multiple singles and albums throughout their career. BABBA’s sound was a mix of classic pop, rock and heavy metal, with their signature ABBA-style singing style. They became well-known for their energetic and lighthearted performing style. BABBA achieved international success in 1997, when the group was the opening act for the Spice Girls world tour. BABBA disbanded in 2001, but continues to influence the Swedish music industry.
