Beak> is a music project created by singer and bassist Billy Fuller, composer and producer Geof Barrow, and multi-instrumentalist Matt Williams. The trio specialize in a genre-defying blend of leftfield rock-infused electronic music that, while beholden to Krautrock and post-punk influences, also bridges a range of styles from '90s IDM to contemporary jazz, folk, and ambient music. Since their 2009 formation, Beak> has released five studio albums and a handful of EPs on labels such as Kim Gordon's Body/Head imprint, Invada Records, and Temporary Residence Ltd. The band's performances and recorded material is consistently innovative and has earned them a devoted following among fans of experimental music. In addition to their own projects, their members have frequently collaborated with likeminded acts such as Portishead, Efterklang, UK folk duo The Unthanks, and sonic auteur Micachu.
