Bernie Marsden is an English rock and blues guitarist who has played with several of the most successful British rock bands of the 1970s and 1980s. He began his career playing guitar for Babe Ruth in 1972 before taking a role as lead guitarist in Whitesnake in 1978. With Whitesnake he recorded three studio albums and a hit single, "Fool for Your Loving". Marsden also formed the group Alaska with guitarist Paul Chapman and recorded two studio albums with them. He released his debut solo album And About Time Too in 1979. In his solo career, he has released several other albums, most notably his 2002 release Shine and 2008 release When I Was a Cowboy. Recent times have seen Bernie touring with his own band, The Bernie Marsden Band, as well as appearing as a regular member of the British rock band The Snakes.
