Brendan Benson is a singer-songwriter from Detroit, whose style of music spans from alternative rock and pop rock to indie. He released his debut solo album, One Mississippi, in 1996 with Virgin Records. His sound quickly gained recognition across the country, and he has worked with many notable musicians over the years. In 2001, Benson joined forces with Jack White to form The Raconteurs, and released two successful albums with the band. Benson's solo career has continued to thrive since then. He's released six studio albums, including My Old, Familiar Friend in 2009, and Dear Life in 2018. And he has toured in the US and Europe in recent years. Benson has been applauded for his heartfelt and often clever lyrics and masterful guitar playing. He continues to create music as a solo artist, as well as with supergroup A.V. Club.
