Darkstar tickets

Formed in Manchester in 2009, Darkstar is an electronic music duo composed of James Butler and Aiden Whalley. Over the course of their career, they have released five studio albums, each exploring different expansive soundscapes comprised of ambient and melodic hard beats. Their 2011 debut album North was critically acclaimed and has been cited as one of the defining British albums of the decade. 2012’s News From Nowhere attracted nods from the likes of Pitchfork, NME, and BBC with its radio worthy single Aidy's Girl Is A Computer. In subsequent years, Darkstar released Foam Island with a spectrum of musical elements, from off kilter balladry to synapse tripping whirring electronics; and the 2018 EP Civic Jams which featured a collaboration with US hip-hop producer Clams Casino on the lead single.
