About Edie Brickell
Edie Brickell is an American singer-songwriter. She began her career in the late 1980s with her band The New Bohemians. Their first album, Shooting Rubbish, was released in 1988 and was certified gold in the United States. Their single "What I Am" peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was also successful in the United Kingdom. In the early 1990s, Brickell pursued a solo career, releasing two chart-topping albums: Picture Perfect Morning in 1994, and Volcano in 1997. Other albums and collaborations include Ghost of a Dog, Venus (a collaboration with Steve Martin), Love Has Come For You (with Steve Martin) and a Broadway musical Bright Star which earned her a 2016 Tony Award nomination. Brickell continues to write and perform music today.
