Hexis is an experimental black metal band from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band was formed in 2011 by guitarist/vocalist James Fogarty and drummer Calle Runsén. They have released three studio albums to date, Abalam (2012), Tando Ashanti (2013), and XES (2015). The music of Hexis is characterized by strong emphasis on densely layered textures and a post-rock aesthetic. This combination of black metal and post-rock creates a dark and haunting atmosphere, as the band utilizes both guitar distortion and ambient elements in their work. The band also employs unorthodox time signatures and unconventional riffing and song structures that sets them apart from other black metal bands. Hexis have performed live all over the world, including touring Europe, Canada, and the United States.
