Their albums Everybody Down and Let Them Eat Chaos earned Mercury Prize nominations, while works like Brand New Ancients (Ted Hughes Award), Hold Your Own, and the National Theatre’s Paradise explore identity, class, and resilience. They also wrote the bestseller The Bricks That Built the Houses and use they/them pronouns, having come out as non-binary in 2020.
