Kailash Kher is a popular Indian music artist, known for his unique folk-inspired voice. He began his career in 2002 with his hit song 'Allah Ke Bande' and since then has developed a high profile career in playback singing as well as a variety of music genres ranging from film, folk, classical, Sufi, and even Tamil and Telugu. He has sung in over 16 languages and for over 300 films, and was awarded the Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer Award in 2006. He has also performed in collaborations with various international artists and won numerous awards, such as the IIFA Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 2008, the Bengal Music Academy Awards in 2006 and 2009, and the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 2012.
