About Mel Parsons
Mel Parsons is a New Zealand singer-songwriter. She has been writing and performing her own music since the early 2000s, when she released her debut album 'Drylands'. Her songs have a distinctly country-folk vibe and touch upon topics of love, loss, and human relationships.
Her second album, 'Red Grey Blue', released in 2007, gained national attention in New Zealand and earned her praise and a nomination in the 2008 New Zealand Music Awards. In the years since, Mel has developed her sound and released further albums, including 'Glass Heart' in 2011, 'The Rookery' in 2015, and her most recent album 'Live At Roundhead Studios' in 2018.
Mel's songs have been featured on television and in films, and she has played numerous concert dates around New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and Canada. She is also the 2018 recipient of the APRA Maioha award for her song 'Over My Should
