Owen Pallett is a Canadian composer, violinist, and singer-songwriter known for their intricate and emotive music, which blends orchestral elements with indie pop sensibilities. Born on September 7, 1979, in Mississauga, Ontario, they began playing the violin at a young age and went on to study composition at the University of Toronto. Pallett gained recognition with their solo project, originally named "Final Fantasy," releasing critically acclaimed albums such as *He Poos Clouds*, which won the 2006 Polaris Music Prize. They are also renowned for their work as a string arranger for acts like Arcade Fire and for scoring films, most notably collaborating on the Academy Award-winning score for the film *Her*. Pallett's music is celebrated for its innovative use of looping and live performance techniques, creating richly layered soundscapes.
