Paper Lace is a music artist created in Nottingham, England in 1972, consisting of vocalists Phillip Wright and Clifford McClelland and a lineup of supporting musicians. They rose to prominence in the 1970s when their single "The Night Chicago Died" reached number one on the UK charts. Their other hit songs included breakout singles "Billy, Don’t Be a Hero," "The Black-Eyed Boys" and "Hitchin' a Ride". Paper Lace reached the peak of their popularity during the 1970s when their fanbase expanded into the United States. The group disbanded in 1979, but reunited in 1985 and again in 2014 to perform live shows. They continue to be a timeless and popular band, thanks to the international success of their handful of chart topping hits.
