About TH' Dudes
TH' Dudes formed in 1978 in Auckland, New Zealand, forming the cornerstone of what was later described by New Zealand music historians as the ‘Dunedin Sound’. Propelled by hit singles such as 'Be Mine Tonight' and 'Bliss', the group quickly rose to prominence in the local music scene. The combination of driving bass with melodic harmonies, catchy guitar parts and strong vocal melodies was integral to the style and sound of the group.
In 1980, with the release of their debut album ‘Right First Time’, TH' Dudes cemented their place in New Zealand music history and the record went on to become one of the best selling albums in New Zealand music of the time. By the time their second album, ‘Where Are The Boys?’, was released in 1982, TH' Dudes had become one of the most acclaimed bands in New Zealand and had achieved international success.
Throughout the remainder of their
