The Destroyers are an English punk rock band from Watford, Hertfordshire UK. Formed in 1977, the group was originally fronted by singer/guitarist Dave Vanian and bassist Captain Sensible. Both Vanian and Sensible shared vocal duties but Sensible's anarchic sense of humor and wild costumes ensured he became the groups most iconic figure. The band has released several albums over the years including Machine Gun Etiquette (1979), The Wonderful World of the The Destroyers (1980) and Anything (1986). The Destroyers are often credited with influencing 80s punk, gothic rock and psychobilly music and inspiring a generation of young bands. Today, The Destroyers remain one of punk's most enduring bands, still performing to this day.
