Tom The Mail Man (real name Tom Smith) is an alternative hip-hop artist from Philadelphia. He is known for his conscious and experimental style, which often blends traditional hip-hop with rock, jazz and folk elements. Since starting out in the late 1990s, The Mail Man has released several studio albums, and has worked with a variety of notable producers, including Madlib, Premier, Samiyam, RJD2 and Ninjasonik. His records explore a variety of topics, including urban culture, political and social issues, and personal experiences. Tom has also collaborated with several other established artists, including El-P, Blu, Count Bass D, and Homeboy Sandman, and has garnered a cult following amongst fans of alternative hip-hop.
