Transatlantic is an American and British progressive rock supergroup started in 1999 and made up of four members: Neal Morse (US), Mike Portnoy (US), Roine Stolt (Sweden) and Pete Trewavas (UK). Their music is characterized by complex, composed passages, heavy talk-slide guitar, and soulful melodies. Within their first year, Transatlantic released two studio albums, SMPT:e and Bridge Across Forever, as well as a live double-album, Live in America. In the mid-2000s, Transatlantic released The Whirlwind in 2009, and Kaleidoscope in 2014. Both of these albums featured a larger focus on vocal melodies and improvised jam sections. Over two decades, Transatlantic has seen multiple lineup changes, their most recent being Kasim Sulton replacing Peterson Trewavas in 2014.
