Wellington Sea Shanty Society is a musical group based in Wellington, New Zealand. They play a range of traditional music, including Irish and English folk songs, shanties, ballads, and waltzes. The group was formed in 2011 and since then has become a popular fixture in the city's music scene. They have performed with some of the biggest names in shanty music, including Peter & Johno and the Paddy Boys, and released their debut album 'Across the Ditch' in 2012. The album earned them an APRA Silver Scroll nomination for Songwriting Excellence.
