Grant is an English actor, screenwriter and director known for his roles in the films Withnail and I, How to Get Ahead in Advertising, Hudson Hawk, Bram Stoker's Dracula and more recently, Logan and Can You Ever Forgive Me. He has also been in high profile television roles including Dr Who, Game of Thrones, The Iron Lady, Downton Abbey, and recently in the HBO show His Dark Materials. He is often acclaimed for his performances, being nominated for many of the industry's awards, including a Golden Globe, two Baftas and an Oscar. In recent years, Richard E. Grant has also turned his attention to his own writing and to directing, contributing to several adaptation of books and working with the BBC.
