About Golden Girls
Golden Girls was an early 80s electro music project created by Dutch producers Hubert Bognermayr and Walter 'Wiz' Merz. The duo released three 12-inch and one full-length LP which was critically acclaimed, especially for the time.
Their self-titled album, released in 1981, had tracks produced using the most advanced equipment of the day. They had a unique sound, created by cutting edge analogue technology, which set them apart from the minimal synth wave of the time.
The project was lauded by music critics of the time, including both Europe and North America, with many large publications singing their praises. As their music was made pre-Internet, and pre-streaming, their influence and cult status come from word-of-mouth rather than digital success.
Golden Girls went on to have a successful tour and a second album was due to be released in 1983, however the band split up before. Their music still remains
