About American Football
American Football is an alternative rock band from Illinois led by Mike Kinsella, formed in 1997. The band's self-titled debut album was released in 1999 and amassed a large fan base. The band's sound is an interesting mix of indie pop melodies and math rock complexity. American Football disbanded in 2000, only to reunite in 2014 and release a second album, also self-titled, in 2016. The band continues to tour extensively in both the US and abroad, playing to sold out crowds of devoted fans. Their 2017 release, American Football (LP3), features a more polished sound that is as memorable as it is emotionally affecting.
