Damu The Fudgemunk is an American hip-hop producer and DJ from Washington, D.C. Damu is well known for his strong jazz influence and for creating meticulously arranged beats rich in texture and atmosphere. He first gained attention as a producer and DJ for numerous underground hip-hop acts, including Insight, yU, and Substantial. In 2008 he launched Redefinition Records and his debut album, How It Should Sound, was released. He has since gone on to produce 13 solo albums on his label, including vinyl releases, and his music has been licensed for films, commercials, documentaries and video games. He continues to DJ and produce music today and frequently collaborates with other artists.
