Foo Fighters is an American rock band founded by Nirvana drummer and singer-songwriter Dave Grohl in 1995. After the death of Kurt Cobain, Grohl recorded an album of demos all by himself. Those recordings became the band's debut album Foo Fighters which was released in 1995. Since then the Foo Fighters has released nine more albums, all of which have gone on to have considerable success, including seven Grammy awards. The band's most successful albums include The Colour and the Shape, There Is Nothing Left to Lose, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and Sonic Highways. The Foo Fighters are one of the most successful and popular rock bands of the 21st century. They have sold over 12 million records world wide and performed in sold out stadium shows, as well as headlining several international music festivals.
