About Daniel Boon
Daniel Boon is an American folk musician, born in Kentucky in 1762. He is best remembered for his traveling through the Appalachian mountains and popularizing the folk songs of the region. His most recognizable works are the widely popular "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and "Oh, Susanna!" which were both written in the mid-1800s. His legacy has also transcended beyond music into popular culture, with references to Daniel Boon regularly being included in books, films, and television shows. Boon tragically died at the young age of 29 but even posthumously, his musical spirit carries on in timeless tunes and is often seen as the pinnacle of American folk music.
