Genesis is an iconic English rock band that has been producing and performing music since the late '60s. The original line-up of the group featured Peter Gabriel, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, and Anthony Phillips. The early albums of the band featured a progressive-rock sound which allowed for the development of their career and mainstream success. Phil Collins briefly joined the band as lead singer before leaving in the mid '90s to pursue a solo career.

Genesis' popularity in the '80s grew significantly, and they released some of their most successful albums in this era including Abacab, Invisible Touch, and We Can't Dance. These releases saw the band take a more accessible route with their music. Following the release of their thirteenth studio album in 1997, the members of the band split up.
