James McMurtry is an American rock and folk-rock singer-songwriter and guitarist, known for his richly narrative songwriting and poignant storytelling. Born on March 18, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, he is the son of acclaimed novelist Larry McMurtry and English professor and writer Jo Scott McMurtry.
