John Leventhal is an American musician, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Based in New York City, he is best known as a guitar player and is recognized as a Grammy Award-winning music producer. His career spans over four decades and includes work with some of the most iconic names in music, including Rosanne Cash, Willie Nelson, Marc Cohn, Shawn Colvin, Emmylou Harris and Carly Simon. Leventhal's production credits include albums that have won three Grammy Awards and earned sixteen nominations. As a songwriter, including collaborations with his wife Rosanne Cash, he has written fifteen top thirty singles. He also co-wrote two songs for the Tony Award-winning musical Come From Away. In addition to his work in music, Leventhal has composed for film and theater.
