Krystian Zimerman is a world-renowned Polish pianist and Chopin specialist. He won international fame in 1975 when he won the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. In the decades that followed he has given powerful and musically profound performances of a wide range of classical music from Bach to Prokofiev. Furthermore, he has been lauded by critics around the world, with some describing him as ‘the greatest living virtuoso of the keyboard’. His recordings include the Sonatas and Partitas of J.S. Bach's and the complete works of Chopin. Most recently, Zimerman has focussed on his own interpretations of works by Mozart and, in 2021, he embarked on a recital series in Europe and North America.
