Ladysmith Black Mambazo is a South African music group formed in the early 1960s. The group was pioneered by Joseph Shabalala and is made up of male singers who sing in a style known as isicathamiya. They have released over 60 albums throughout their career and have achieved considerable success in the areas of gospel music, folk-inspired tunes, and world music. Their music has gained international recognition, and they have collaborated with many prominent artists such as Paul Simon and Dolly Parton. Ladysmith Black Mambazo has won five Grammy Awards, as well as countless other awards and accolades for their work.
