Laura Veirs is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter and musician originally from Colorado. She released her first self-titled album in 1999, and has since released eleven full-length albums. Veirs has been described as a masterful storyteller and her music is often described as indie-folk, combining traditional folk music with indie rock, electronica, and country-rock. Veirs has collaborated with a range of prominent musicians such as kd lang, Neko Case and Tortoise. She has toured extensively worldwide and appeared at the prestigious Glastonbury, Telluride Bluegrass and Bonnaroo festivals. Her most recent album, Pay in Kind, features songs inspired by natural disasters, motherhood and the environment.
