Omar Sosa is an award-winning Cuban pianist and composer who has been releasing albums since the late 1990s. He blends together Afro-Cuban jazz, funk, lyrical melodies, and Latin rhythms among other influences to create a unique and vibrant sound. Sosa has released over 20 albums and collaborated with a variety of well-known world-music artists. He has performed alongside percussionist Odúviler and saxophonist Alex, leading to Grammy nominations for his latin jazz compositions. In 2016, Sosa created his label, Otá Records, to further develop his cutting-edge vision for Cuban jazz. His most recent release, Transparent Water, was chosen as one of the top jazz albums of 2019.
