Pieces of a Dream is a contemporary jazz and R&B fusion group founded in 1976 in Philadelphia by keyboardist James Lloyd, drummer Curtis Harmon, and bassist Cedric Napoleon. Named after a Stanley Turrentine song, the band quickly gained recognition in the early 1980s with the release of their self-titled debut album, which was produced by the renowned Grover Washington Jr. Known for their smooth blend of jazz, funk, and soul, Pieces of a Dream has released numerous albums over the decades, maintaining a strong presence in the smooth jazz scene.
