Sebadoh is an American rock band that formed in 1989 in Northampton, Massachusetts. It is led by two of its founding members, vocalist and guitarist Lou Barlow and guitarist Jason Loewenstein. The band has gone through some lineup changes over the years, but has kept to its original goal of creating acoustic-styled music with punk influences. Throughout its career, Sebadoh has released nine full-length studio albums, two extended plays, multiple compilations and solo albums from Barlow, Loewenstein and Sebadoh's former drummer, Bob Fay. The band's music encompasses a range of sounds and styles, from the early lo-fi sound of their first album The Freed Man to the more angular, tightknit indie rock of Bakesale (1994). Sebadoh has attained critical acclaim from numerous publications including Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and Allmusic, and continues to be influential in the indie rock genre.
