About Sote
Sote is an Iranian avant-garde musician, sound engineer and installation artist currently based in Berlin. He is best known for combining elements of traditional Iranian and Middle Eastern music and folk-inspired melodies with contemporary electronic music, synth drones and intense rhythms. He regularly performs concerts, often creating a sort of hybrid digital/acoustic live performance where he combines live electronic instruments and self-made software with traditional Iranian stringed instruments such as the setar and the santur. Sote has released a number of critically acclaimed albums, including "Neo-Anatolian Terror" and "Soterios". He has also collaborated with other renowned composers, like Bill Laswell, and has an extensive installation project background with works exhibited throughout Europe and the Middle East.
