The Devil Makes Three is an Americana/folk/bluegrass band that formed in Santa Cruz, California in 2002. Described by NPR as a "genre-bending roots band," they mix bluegrass, old-time, country, folk, blues, and rockabilly. The three-piece band consists of guitar, upright bass, and banjo player Pete Bernhard, Cooper McBean on guitar and banjo, and Lucia Turino on standup bass. Through their unique blend of folk and bluegrass, The Devil Makes Three have established an impressive fan base within the jam band and Americana circles. They have released seven studio albums along with several live albums and EPs. Since forming, they have built up a loyal following and have performed at well-known festivals such as Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival.
