Richard Elliot is an American saxophonist and composer who has been a prominent name in contemporary jazz since 1980. Though originally from Glasgow, Scotland, he began his career by moving to Los Angeles, California where he joined Tower of Power’s horn section. He then began recording as a solo artist, forming a fruitful collaboration with musical powerhouse, Sonic Images. His sound reflects a wide range of musical influences, from the genres of jazz, funk, and blues to rhythm and blues and soft rock. Throughout his career, he has released over 25 albums, received two Grammy Award nominations, and won both a Soul Train Award and an NAACP Image Award. He continues to perform and tour in the US and abroad, collaborating with artists such as Kenny Loggins and Earth Wind & Fire.
