About Café Tacvba
Mexican alternative rock band, Café Tacuba, formed in 1989, and has long been one of the leading lights of the Latin American alternative rock scene. Originating in Mexico City, the outfit blended psychedelic, folk, electronica, rock, and punk influences into a variety of off-kilter styles. Year after year, Café Tacvba has released acclaimed and awarded albums, and has been featured in multiple films.
Café Tacvba's debut studio album, Café Tacvba, was nominated for a Grammy for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album and helped propel the group into the spotlight. This was quickly followed up by the hit single "Rarotonga" in 1990, which they then went on to perform live on MTV. They released their second album, Re, in 1994. After their third album, Cuatro Caminos in 2003, the band went on to win multiple awards, including a Latin Grammy for Album of the Year in 2004 and
