About Dawes

Dawes is an American folk and rock band formed in Los Angeles in 2009. The band consists of brothers Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, Wylie Gelber, and Tay Strathairn. They have released five studio albums, most recently Passwords, in 2018. Dawes has toured extensively and has been well received at festivals such as Lollapalooza and Newport Folk Festival. Dawes' sound is associated with folk, Americana, and Laurel Canyon, and they have a reputation for dynamic live performances. Their songs often focus on themes of heartache and loss, with a sound comparable to Neil Young and Jackson Browne.
