Incubus is an early 2000s popular alternative metal band from Calabasas, California, who've been experimenting with a new form of metal. Drawing influences from the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, they expanded their music palette, and their sound contained funk, hip-hop as well as grunge. They posed a unique music alternative to what was already a movement for the alternative rock sound.
The band went on to release several alternative hits such as "Drive" "Anna Molly," which placing Incubus on top of the Alternative Music Charts. In 1999 the band first identified commercial success with their album "Make Yourself" While their music was never a mainstream magnet, they've hit several platinum milestones. They've become mainstream in an alternative way. They never "sold-out" their sound, but they have sold out festivals and concerts across the world
