Vampire Weekend is an American rock band from New York City formed in 2006. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Ezra Koenig, keyboardist and backing vocalist Rostam Batmanglij, bassist and backing vocalist Chris Baio, and drummer and percussionist Chris Tomson. The band released their self-titled debut studio album in 2008, which went on to become one of the greatest indie successes of that year. They achieved mainstream success with the release of the Grammy Award-winning album Contra (2010) and their fourth album Modern Vampires of the City (2013). They have released a total of five albums, three EPs, seventeen singles, and two dozen music videos. They have also earned five Grammy Award nominations for their work. Vampire Weekend's unique style blends elements of indie rock, 1980s pop music, classical music, and African music.
