The Eagles are an American band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. The band's original lineup included Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner, and Glenn Frey. Their hit songs include "Take It Easy," "Hotel California," "Life in the Fast Lane," and "Desperado." The band has won six Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year for "Hotel California" and Album of the Year for Eagles: Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975). The band has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, and the Eagles Greatest Hits (1971-1975) is the second best-selling album of all time in the U.S., with sales of over 42 million copies. The Eagles held the record for the longest run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart of all time until 2017 with their song "Hotel California." In 2020, the Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
